How is this place still open? I've been here on a few different occasions, and every time! I have gotten the worst service! Food is midiocre, at best.

simply the best sushi in Winnipeg. my favourites include the fashion role, chef special with quail egg, chopped hokki nigiri, crispy crunch, the island roll, and of course the always amazing sashimi.

This low key, slightly hidden spot is to die for. Clean and simple setup. Excellent service. Wide varieties of sushi to choose from. This restaurant is by far one of the best sushi spots I’ve ever been to, hands down. You will definitely get your money’s worth here. I recommend this restaurant to all the sushi lovers out there.

Meiji is one of my favourite sushi restaurants in Winnipeg. I enjoy the atmosphere of the historic courtyard building, and the food is always excellent.

Have been to at least 10 different sushi restaurants and this one is by far the best. Never had a bad experience.

Awesome selection of 2oz cocktails for 9$.The squid tempura is delicious, thicc and the best I've ever had. Waiters were professional and were very much attentive on the pace of our service such as needing drinks.Highly recommended this romantic, warm and cozy absolute gem of a restaurant.

Absolutely love the sushi here. In my opinion this is the best sushi place in winnipeg! The service is always excellent. Everyone is friendly and they definitely try to make you happy if something went wrong with your order. Favorite rolls are the Bakudan, Tsunami, negative Toro and kamikaze!

Great selection of sushi and martinis! Be sure to go to the basement floor, they're opened before G Martini's!

This sushi place is good if you also want martinis. But there are SO many options in the city, that if you are just in it for sushi, you could probably find less expensive options.That said, the martinis are excellent!

This is by far the best sushi place in Winnipeg. Big rolls, squishy, lots of fish, not too much rice and everything tastes so fresh. Cozy atmosphere, and our server was spot on.

I love the seafood salad and the cobra roll. Traditional seating is always fun, and staff and chefs are friendly and accomdating. Only issue is, and this isn't their fault, is that the building you have to walk through usually has an unpleasant smell in the main courtyard. Once inside the restaurant this smell disappears. FYI, restrooms are not in the restaurant (you walk through said courtyard) and feel a bit deserted. Cozy spot anyway.

Very Yummy! The service was great, and I love the option for traditional seating.

Co-worker colleague put me on to this hidden local gem of a sushi & martini bar ticked away in an old brick building in Osborne village and well worth the effort to get out of and beyond downtown Winnipeg. Generous sized sushi rolls with several pages of creative various types are sure to please any palate and dietary requirements/restrictions. Try the spicy marinated tuna and gomae as appetizers followed by the Fashion roll, Meiji special and anything else depending on how hungry you are! Reasonable prices make for good value.

Meiji is a gem. The house roll is a favorite, but there are so many great things on the menu. The staff is always really friendly as well.

Always great Sushi and service, loved it!!

The staff and food are great here. They have "traditional" Japanese seating where you must take your shoes off, which I loved. The cocktails are good (and cheap) and the food is also good. The lighting is low and the decor is nice which makes for an atmosphere perfect for a date spot. Recommended if you're in the area.
